Announcement
Christ Health Center exists to walk hand in hand with patients the healthcare system has forgotten. Pointcare exists to make sure those patients never lose the coverage they need to be seen.
Today, Pointcare announces its first Alabama partnership with Christ Health Center, a Birmingham-based federally qualified health center serving 18,455 patients across three medical locations, with a mission rooted in compassionate, whole-person care for children, women, and families regardless of ability to pay. This partnership marks Pointcare’s official entry into the state of Alabama.
Christ Health knows what happens when Medicaid coverage lapses. Patients who showed up for prenatal care don’t come back. Kids miss follow-ups. Prescriptions go unfilled. And somewhere in the background, a financial counselor is spending 40 hours a week — at each location — trying to manually keep up with enrollment. The effort is there. The infrastructure wasn’t.
Pointcare changes that. The platform’s real-time Medicaid redeterminations tracking catches lapses before patients feel them. Automated multi-channel outreach re-engages patients before coverage breaks. And Medicaid enrollment automation replaces the manual grind with a system that runs continuously — so Christ Health’s team can focus on care instead of paperwork.
Health centers here know this better than anyone. Their teams are already stretched. Financial counselors managing manual outreach. Redetermination deadlines piling up. Uninsured rates that tick upward while Medicaid enrollment slips. The problem isn’t effort. It’s infrastructure.
“Pointcare gives us the ability to get ahead of coverage gaps instead of reacting to them. Our team spends an enormous amount of time on manual enrollment — time that should go to our patients. Having a system that monitors coverage in real time, automates outreach, and flags patients before they fall through the cracks is exactly what we needed. This is a tool built for how community health centers actually operate.”
CORY HARRIS
Chief Operating Officer, Christ Health Center
Pointcare’s approach to community health center revenue cycle starts where the problem does: upstream, before coverage lapses, before uninsured visits pile up, before the financial counselors are buried. Coverage gap prevention isn’t a billing fix. It’s an operational shift — one that compounds over time as more patients stay continuously covered.
The result is coverage churn reduction that shows up in the numbers and in the exam room. Fewer uninsured visits. More continuity of care. A health center that can do more of what it was built to do.
“Christ Health has built something rare in Birmingham — a place where faith and medicine come together to serve families that most systems overlook. We’re here to make sure their patients stay covered, their staff gets time back, and their mission stays financially sustainable. Alabama is just the beginning.”
